The huntboard, like no other piece of furniture, is a symbol of southern hospitality. These
tall sideboards were a furniture form found only in the south. Legend has it that
huntboards were used to serve refreshments to guests after a day of hunting while
standing in the hall. This would keep them from tracking mud into the rest of the house.
Whatever the original use was, their graceful form lends the dignity and gentility of the old
south to any room. Mortise and tenon case. Dovetailed drawers with tiny mouldings (known
in the period as cockbeading) applied around the face of the drawers. Solid brass fittings.
Choose from American Black Cherry or Maple with Tiger Maple drawer fronts and top.
Available Finishes: Maple wood - Golden Maple, Early American Maple, Southern Maple,
Cherry Wood - York County Cherry, Old Virginia Cherry, Antique Cherry.
